MIT Mass Timber Design, a cross-disciplinary design workshop at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, have developed a building prototype that aims to tackle the world’s growing energy crisis. Extensively using the wood-based building design and construction technology mass timber - a method growing in popularity within North America - the project utilizes prefabricated timber construction elements to realize a multi-functional, sustainable building.

FunderMax presents m.look NCore, an architectural facade panel with a heavy duty, reinforced mineral fiber and a non-combustible core with a highly weather resistant decorative surface. Where previously only a limited selection of materials was available in limited designs, m.look NCore now opens up new visual worlds. FunderMax m.look NCore panels have proved compliance with sections 703.5.1 and 703.5.2 of the 2015 IBC for materials considered "non-combustible" based on code requirements and passing the ASTM E136 test protocol.
